The Connected Parent Collective: Cultivating Meaningful Relationships with Your Neurodivergent Child

Discover the Proven Framework to Build a Deeper, More Joyful Relationship with Your Neurodivergent Child

Parenting a neurodivergent child comes with a flood of advice, and it’s hard to know what truly works. If you’re here, you’re already breaking cycles and choosing to parent in ways that affirm your child—even when it feels like the road less traveled.

What if you didn’t have to walk that road alone? What if you had the tools, community, and confidence to navigate this journey with more clarity and joy?

The Connected Parent Collective is your guidepost. We won’t hand you a one-size-fits-all map because you are the expert on your child. Instead, we give you the compass, the skills, and the supportive community you need to chart your own path.

Here, you’ll learn proven, neuroaffirming strategies to deeply understand your child, strengthen your connection, and support their growth- all while growing your own confidence as the advocate and parent your child needs.

What’s Inside the Program

This isn’t just another parenting program. It’s a carefully crafted experience that combines expert guidance, actionable strategies, and a supportive community to help you thrive as a parent.

1. Our Framework

Learn parenting approaches from our unique “three brains approach” (head, heart, and gut) to help you connect with your child on every level:

  • Understanding Your Unique Kid (Head Brain): Learn neurodivergent-affirming strategies to understand and support your child’s unique needs.

  • Nervous System Regulation (Gut Brain): Discover tools to help your child (and yourself!) stay calm, regulated, and resilient.

  • Strategies for Social Connections (Heart Brain): Build meaningful relationships and social skills in a way that feels authentic and joyful.

2. Individual Parent Consultation With a Coach

Before the group begins, you will meet individually with one of our coaches for a one-hour consultation.

This gives us an opportunity to learn about your family, your child’s strengths and needs, what is currently feeling challenging, and the areas where you would most like support.

Why this matters: Your family is not like every other family. Getting to know you before the group begins allows us to better understand your unique situation and make the coaching experience more meaningful and relevant to you.

Your individual consultation will be scheduled after registration.

3. Teaching Videos

You will receive five short, curated teaching videos created by your Connected Parent coaches: Allison Marean and Breann Colpitts.

Each video introduces an important concept that connects to the material we will explore together during our live sessions. Whenever possible, we encourage you to watch the video before the corresponding group meeting. This gives you an opportunity to preview the topic and begin thinking about how it relates to your own family.

Why this matters: You can learn the foundational concepts at your own pace and then use our live meetings to go deeper, ask questions, and talk through how these ideas apply to your child.

And don't worry if you don't get a chance to watch a video beforehand, the live sessions will still be meaningful and supportive.

4. Live Virtual Group Coaching Sessions

We will meet virtually on Zoom for six group coaching sessions. During these meetings, we will dive deeper into the concepts introduced in the teaching videos and explore topics related to understanding your child's neurotype, emotions, social development, connection, and everyday parenting challenges.

There will also be dedicated time for parent questions and problem-solving. Bring us the real-life situations that are leaving you stuck, and we will work together to think through them.

Why this matters: Sometimes knowing what to do isn't enough. You need a chance to talk through what is happening with your actual child and figure out how to put the ideas into practice.

You will also be learning alongside other parents who understand that parenting a neurodivergent child can sometimes feel very different from what you expected.

All Zoom sessions will be recorded and shared privately with program participants, so you can watch a missed session at a time that works for you.

5. The Me Manual

The Me Manual is our signature tool for helping children better understand and communicate who they are.

It is a carefully crafted resource that helps children explore their strengths, preferences, needs, challenges, and the things that help them feel successful. It can also give parents and other important adults a clearer picture of how to support the child in front of them.

Why this matters: Instead of always asking, “How do we get our child to do this?” we can start asking, “What do we need to understand about this child so we can support them better?”

The Me Manual gives families a creative, concrete way to explore that question together and gives children a way to share important information about themselves with the people around them.

6. Laughter as a Tool for Connection

We believe that learning and connection don't always have to feel serious!

Throughout the program, we incorporate the science of laughter exercises that families can use together.

Laughter can be a simple, accessible way to shift the energy in a difficult moment, reconnect after a stressful interaction, and create positive experiences together.

Why this matters: Sometimes families need another tool in their toolbox that doesn't involve more talking, correcting, or problem-solving. A little laughter and play can help everyone reconnect, reset, and remember that your relationship with your child is about more than the hard moments.

7. A Community of Parents Who “Get It”

One of the most valuable parts of the Connected Parent Collective is knowing that you are not doing this alone.

You will be learning alongside other parents who are also working to understand their neurodivergent children, rethink traditional parenting approaches, and find ways to support their children while maintaining a strong relationship.

Why this matters: There is something powerful about realizing that the questions you have—and the challenges you're experiencing—are not yours alone.

Our Goal: Our goal is not to give you another list of things you should be doing.

Our goal is to help you become a more confident social coach for your child—someone who understands the why behind your child's behavior and can respond with greater connection, curiosity, and intention.

Why This Program Works

With over 40 years of combined experience supporting neurodivergent children and their families, we’ve seen what works and what doesn’t. This program is built on:

  • Neurodivergent-Affirming Strategies: We honor your child’s unique brain and help you do the same.

  • Expert Guidance: Your coaches are a school psychologist and special education teacher who are also certified laughter yoga leaders and parents with podcast and TedX experience, respectively.

  • Community Support: You’re not alone. Join a collective of parents who understand your journey and cheer you on.

What Parents Are Saying

Here’s what parents like you have to say about working with us:

“I knew parenting would be hard, but I didn’t know it would be THIS hard. I’m thankful for this group because I know I’m not alone. The things we have learned here, it’s been fantastic. Thank you for putting this together.”

-Dad of 3 neurodivergent kids

“We were struggling with how to set appropriate goals and expectations for our neurodivergent kids. Now we understand how to talk to them with respect for their brain wiring and collaborating to figure things out as a team.”

-Parents of a tween & teen

“Trying to parent my neurodivergent child differently than I was raised…realizing I’m neurodivergent too…there isn’t a guide for that. Being with other parents doing the same thing, it’s been such a great experience. It gives me the confidence to keep going.” -Mom of a preschooler

“The coaching far exceeded my expectations. Not only did I feel like I had a partner to problem-solve and game-plan with, but I also feel like I understand my son better. In some ways, it was like having an interpreter—helping me see my child's experience in a new way. I’ve been able to exercise more patience, compassion, and understanding in all aspects of our relationship.” -Parent of a 5 year old
